Glassonby

GLASSONBY: Private airfield
Note: I reckon that if a private site has more than one runway, it should be accorded airfield status.

Operated by: Glassonby Airfield Ltd

Location: Just SE of Glassonby, about 6nm NE of Penrith

Period of operation: Early 2000s to -

Runways: 2003:  18/36   480   grass
                2009:  18/36   480   grass           04/22   385   grass

NOTES: The initial information source was the AAIB report EW/G2007/06/06.

Looking at the pictures, it would appear that in 2003 there is evidence of the 18/36 runway? The hangar is certainly evident. In the 2018 picture the 04/22 runway seems to pass very close to the hangar. Was use restricted to 265 metres?

As always in this 'Guide' if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
