Period of operation:  Unknown?

NOTES:  No attempt is being made to try to record, in this 'Guide', anywhere near all the private sites for helicopters. There are far, far too many, and only examples are being provided, such as this example. As a general rule I like to find sites with a picture of a helicopter, and in this case, as the 2009 detail above shows, the visiting helicopter is a serious advanced type.

It is a common myth, that the Midlands and North of England have long sufferred from under-investment, lack of government funding etc, etc, - which those that live there are very keen to perpetuate. To a large extent utter garbage. Yes, they do have many deprived areas, everywhere in the UK has, including the south-east. But, in the Midlands and the North, there is an abundance of wealth.

To a small extent this 'Guide' pays testimony to this.

For example, these regions had far superior major road networks in place, long before anything comparable existed in the south, and that is still the case by and large.
