Gosforth Park Hotel

GOSFORTH PARK HOTEL:  Private helicopter landing area
Note: Later known as the Newcastle Marriott Hotel

Location: Just E of the B1318, E of the A.1 and roughly 6nm NNW of Newcastle-upon-Tyne city centre

NOTES: A telephone call to the hotel in 2017 revealed that, probably after it opened in 1966, a helipad was provided in the main car park until 2011. A new manager then decided that the area was best used for extra car parking. But, until a year or so ago they still received requests from people wishing to land there.
