Note:  These four pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Location:  Just E of Great Heck village and just W of RAF SNAITH WW2 airfield. S of the M62 and E of the A19. 6nm ESE of Knottingley town centre and 9nm WSW of Goole town centre.

Period of operation:  Early 2000s (?) to -

Runways:   18/36   200   grass          01/19   200   grass

Note:  Both of these runways could be easily extended to the north should the need arise. The hangar appears to be in the top NE corner of the site.

NOTES:  The initial info source was the AAIB report EW/G2018/10/20.

Apparently the base for the RAF 2000 GTX-SE autogyro G-HEKK. The take-off run for this autogyro is given as 75ft, and the landing run 10ft so these runways are very generous. If anybody can kindly offer advice this will be most welcome.

A QUERY

NOTES:  Whilst searching around this area on Google Earth ©, I came across this - having all the hallmarks of an airstrip and also with a 01/19 runway of 200 metres. This location is to the south of Great Heck village. Could it possibly be the airstrip known as BRIDGE COTTAGE? Any ideas?
