Note: These three pictures are from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location:  Just S of the Markyate Road, just SW of Slip End village, less than 1nm SW of junction 10 on the M1 and roughly 3.5nm SW of LUTON airport

Period of operation:  Probably 1960s to 1970s only?

Runway(s):  Unknown?  As my first picture shows, a strip or strips in this field could have been up to 730m E/W and 780m N/S

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide' to thank for pointing out this location. As always, if anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome. Pictures are of course much appreciated.

The evidence to date indicates that the Reims Cessna F150F, G-ATPM, was based here from 30.03.71 until 29.04.72. This being replaced by the Beech 23 Musketeer 1, G-ASJO from 07.06.72 until 18.05.78. Did these owners then acquire another aircraft? Or, was the site abandoned?

In 2022 Graham discovered that the SAN/Jodel DR1050 Ambassadeur, G-ARXT, was based here with three joint owners, from 23.07.68 until 14.08.70. It seems possible it may have been based here by three other joint owners from 1962?
