HMS Calliope

HMS CALLIOPE: Helicopter landing site
Note: Now a Royal Navy Reserve Unit

Location: On the south bank of the River Tyne, Gateshead

NOTES: HMS Calliope was established in 1905, but this seems a suitable excuse to mention that mostly military flying activites on or near the River Tyne appear to have happening for many a year. Plus helicopters landing on ships in more recent years.

If anybody can kindly offer more advice and information, this will be much appreciated.
