HACKNEY MARSHES: Military Landing Ground
 

Military user: RFC

39 [Home Defence] Sqdn     (Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2s & B.E.12s)
 

Location: Presumably on/near the modern Hackney Marsh recreation ground bounded by Leyton to the E, Hackney Wick and Homerton to the S, Lea Bridge to the W and the A104 to the N?

Period of operation: 1916 to 1917

 

NOTES: Used as a Day and Night landing ground.
