Hadfold
HADFOLD: Private microlight airfield (Aka ADVERSANE)
Note: These six pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©
Operated by: Hampshire Microlight Flying Club
A series of aerial pictures taken by the author in October 2016.
Note: As we approached this airfield, from the north, I spotted the runway and thought this was as long as it got, so took this picture. It looked somewhat minimal in length, especially given the trees abutting the SW edge, but heh!; it was of course used by microlights. As we circled I realised it was actually twice as long, the northern half being somewhat obscured by the trees and their long autumnal evening shadows.
Location: Just E of the A29, just NE of Adversane village, and roughly 1nm S of Billingshurst
Period of operation: Possibly late 1990s / early2000s to -
Runway(s): 2001: 05/23 230 grass
2005: 05/23 655 grass 10/28 315 grass
2015: 05/23 655 grass
NOTES: The 2005 picture appears to show clear evidence of a 10/28 runway. But perhaps only used for a short period. Any advice and information, (and indeed pictures), will be most welcome.
