Hall Lane

Note: This map only shows a general location within the UK. If anybody can kindly provide a more exact position, this advice will be most welcome.

HALL LANE:  Civil temporary aerodrome (Possibly CHINGFORD?)

Operated by: Alan Cobham’s Tours

Location: Alongside Hall Lane in Chingford

Period of operation: 1930s only?

NOTES: The itinerary for Alan Cobham’s amazing 1932 National Aviation Day UK Display Tour shows their last and 169th venue, on the 16th October 1932, as being HALL LANE Chingford. The road HALL LANE is still in existence although it would seem, (to me at least), just a wee bit too far south of the WW1 CHINGFORD aerodrome to be this site. These Tours often used sites very close to existing operational aerodromes let alone dis-used aerodromes. And so I now wonder, might it have been a separate site?
