Haltwhistle

Note: This map only gives the position of Haltwhistle town within the UK.

HALTWHISTLE: Military airstrip

Military user: US Army 250th Field Artillery Battalion

Location: In/near Haltwhistle on the A69 midway between Brampton and Hexham

Period of operation: 1944 only perhaps?

NOTES: Tricky one this as Haltwhistle is thought by some to be in Derbyshire. The reason for it being listed in NORTHUMBERLAND is because this is the only listing for Haltwhistle I could find - albiet using a modern map.

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
