Hardwicke

HARDWICKE:   Private airstrip

Note:  Not to be confused with NEW HOUSE FARM airstrip just to the east.

Location:  0.5nm SW of Hardwicke, about 2nm ENE of Hay-on-Wye

Period of operation:  Not known?  Certainly operating around 2006 to 2013

Runway:  (2013)  06/24   490   grass

NOTES:  The 2013 picture above is the only image I could find which shows a fairly well defined runway. Not that a defined runway is needed, or even desirable on a field suitable for use by most light aircraft. The absence of one does of course making a guess at operational dates very difficult if not impossible - just by looking at satellite images.

Indeed, even the existence of a hangar, as in this case, is no proof of a site being operational.

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
