Harpsden Park

HARPSDEN PARK: Private airfield

Harpsden Park in the late 1990s
Harpsden Park in the late 1990s

Operated by: Mr Ray Spiers

Location: Roughly 1nm SSE of Henley-on-Thames town centre

Period of operation: 1990s at least, to -

Runway(s): (2009)   01/19   640   grass

Note: Looking at my picture it appears there was another runway, 03/21   400   grass.
However, a look at a more recent image on Google Earth does not appear to show a clearly defined runway, unlike the 01/19 runway which is very clearly visible.

NOTES: It was Darren Pitcher who, in October 2016, very kindly identified this site. Darren is very knowledgeable about aviation history in this area and has written an excellent book regarding the history of WYCOMBE AIR PARK.
