Note. Pictures by the author.

Operated by: Lord Astor

Location: Roughly just SE of East Hatley village, about 3nm ESE of Gamlingay

Period of operation: Early 1960s to - ?

Runway:  02/20   about 500   grass?
Note: If you look at the second picture it certainly looks as if this runway was once longer, about 700 metres. This said, it also appears to proceed beyond the stand of trees and may once have been, (if you look at Google Earth), possibly once 1000 metres long?

NOTES: HATLEY is relatively close to TOP FARM from where I flew for several most enjoyable years. Once airborne it could be easily seen in the middle distance but I never once saw any sign of activity - not even an aircraft on the ground. However, this is not at all unusual for privately owned airstrips. This said, by the 2000s the strip did look as if it hadn't been used for many years.
