Hawkcraig Point

Note: This map only gives the position of Hawkcraig Point within the UK.

HAWKCRAIG POINT: Military Seaplane Station

Military user: RNAS  (Royal Naval Air Service)

Location: SE of Aberdour on the A921, 4.5nm E to ENE of junction 1 on the M90 near Rosyth

Period of operation: 1913 to 1918?

NOTES: There is a surprising amount of information around on Hawkcraig Point, but I do have time constraints to bear in mind of course, given the width and breadth of this 'Guide'. So far I have failed to identify which aircraft types were based here, and indeed, there might well have been only one!

On one web-site a very fuzzy photograph shows a seaplane about to be launched, (or retrieved), which I think is a Short Brothers type?
