Hay Bluff

HAY BLUFF: Para and hang-glider site

Location: 3nm S of Hay-on-Wye

Period of operation: Early 1990s to present day only?

NOTES: Hay Bluff has a spot height of 677ft AMSL and is situated on the north east corner of the Black Mountains with spectacular views. Equally spectacular for me was the experience of standing on the edge of the Bluff and seeing hang-gliders and para-gliders whirling all around the sky with some pilots speeding along the edge of the ridge barely fifty feet or so away.
