HAYES: Temporary aerodrome     (See the YEADING LANE listing for more info, maps and pics)

Operated by: British Hospitals Air Pageant 1933 Tour of the UK

Location: Yeading Lane, Hayes

Period of operation: 8th to 9th April 1933

HAYES HELIPORT: Commercial heliport

Operated by: Early 1970s to 2003: McAlpine Helicopters Ltd, (Operational Support Services Ltd)

Location: In Swallowfield Way, W of the B465, 2nm N of HEATHROW airport centre

Landing area: 130x21m concrete    (Three helipads)

NOTES: It appears that McAlpine Helicopters moved their operation to KIDLINGTON - OXFORD AIRPORT in 2007. However, a look at the Google Earth pictures seem to indicate, judging by the lack of cars on the site, that this facility was pretty much run down by 1999.

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
