Headon

HEADON: Private microlight airfield    (also known as HEADON FARM)

Note: This picture (2008) was obtained from Google Earth ©

Flying club/school: 2005: Microflight Aviation School

Location: Headon is about 2nm E to ENE of Gamston

Runway: 05/23   280  grass

(In 2010 it appears another runway, 14/32 545m grass, with a width varying from 20 to 30m had been laid out)

NOTES: Are any further details known?

This is interesting, as according to a look on Google Earth, (in 2016 - image date 2008), the 'main' runway, 14/32 leads southeast away from the hangars etc, with runway 05/23 starting at the far end, forming an 'L' layout. However, according to Google Earth the orientation of the main runway is 12/30, which seems a tad odd. Incidentally, both runways have the headings clearly marked.
