Operated by:  Mr M Cockburn in the 1970s and 80s

2001: Mike & Rachel Rudd

Note:  From around 2010 seemingly used by M. R. Aviation, distributors for Tecnam.

Location: On Williford House Farm, in/near Hermitage, 5nm S of Sherborne

Period of operation:  From the 1990s (?) until 2015?

Runway: 08/26   495x22   grass

NOTES:  Looking at the site on Google Earth, (image date 2017), all signs of a defined airstrip had gone. Presumably indicating that the airstrip was no longer used? However, see picture below:

Often a problem with sites such as these, that do not need a defined airstrip - just a reasonably well mown area. In this case a strip is reasonably visible once agan.

I did once request permission to fly in but they had tree felling operations going on.
