Heysham

Note: This map only shows the position of Heysham town within the UK. Can anybody kindly provide advice regarding where Ingham and Little operated from? And indeed, was this really for one year only?

HEYSHAM see also FAMINE POINT

HEYSHAM: Temporary aerodrome

Pleasure flights: Ingham & Little Aviation Co

Location: From the sands

Period of operation: Summer season 1921 only?  (July 3rd to Sept 28th I think)

NOTES: Avro 504Ks G-EANQ and G-EAIA were used. A contemporary photograph shows Capt S F Woods and G-EANQ and a lot of standing water, presumably sea-water (?). One can only imagine the effect this had on the aircraft so it seems little wonder that few survived more than a couple of years in service on these duties.
