HILSEA: Temporary Landing Ground?
Military user: RNAS aircraft taking part in the Royal Review of the Fleet at Spithead in July 1914
Location: N to NNW of Portsmouth city centre, S of the A,27 and E of the M275
Period of operation: July 1914 only?
NOTES: I haven’t found any evidence that the RNAS had a permanent aerodrome established at HILSEA? The seaplanes involved in the Review were based at CALSHOT which by that time had been established as a permanent facility.
