Holbeach flying sites

Note:  This map shows the position of Maisdyke Lane

HOLBEACH see also MANOR FARM

HOLBEACH: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Alan Cobham’s 1935 No.1 Tour

Location: Maisdyke Lane, Fleet Church End, Holbeach

Period of operation: 15th July 1935

HOLBEACH: Military gunnery range

Military user: RAF Central School of Gunnery

NOTES: Apparently an Airspeed Oxford crashed here in July 1943. But, as far as I can make out, there has never been an airstrip on the range. Or was there? The nearest airfield to the range was RAF SUTTON BRIDGE.
