HOLIDAY INN HOTEL: Private helipad

Location: In/near Ashford

Landing area: Level grass area, 150x50 immediately S of S corner of hotel

NOTES: When embarking on the flight to Portugal for my sixtieth birthday, and after collecting my very good friend James Roland, (a senior BA Captain from HEATHROW in the afternoon) we took off from ELSTREE and landed at LYDD ready for the 'great adventure'. Only to find that all the local accommodation was booked out. We ended up here for the night after a pretty expensive taxi ride. However, we had no idea this hotel had a facility for visiting helicopters.
