Honeydon

Note: This map only shows the location of Honeydon within the UK. A look at Google Earth, (image 2009), appears to show no evidence that this airfield ever existed.

HONEYDON: Private airstrip/airfield (Also known as HONEYDON FARM and St NEOTS)

Operated by: From 1990 at least: Mr C Spencer-Thomas
2000: Mr B Spencer-Thomas

Location: 1nm E of Colmworth, 1nm SE of STAUGHTON, 7nm NNE of Bedford

Period of operation: 1970s to -

Runways: 1990/2000    E/W    640    grass           NE/SW    678    grass
                                   NW/SE   678   grass

NOTES: With an airfield like this what’s the bet it’s regularly used by tail-draggers? Having made this comment in about 2002/3 in 2005 I was delighted to discover that in the mid 1970s the Miles M.65 Gemini 1A G-AKHP was the only aircraft listed as being based here and registered to Mr C Spencer-Thomas.

I would much welcome a bit more information about the history of this obviously singular private airfield.
