NOTES:  These four pictures are a great illustration of how much the appearance of a farm strip can vary according to the time of year and the nature of the crops in surrounding fields. Sometimes the strip can be seen from miles away and at other times you have to be really quite close before it becomes visible. This applying of course when visiting a new strip for the first time. And indeed, even some quite large aerodromes can be hard to spot, even with hard runways. LYDD in KENT being perhaps the best example, especially when approaching from the north.

All very much part and parcel of why I very much enjoyed the fun and challenge of farm strip flying.

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
