Hythe flying sites Hampshire

Note:  This map only shows the position of Hythe within the UK.

HYTHE flying sites

NOTES:   Listed below are two mentions of flying sites I have come across in addition to the main entry.

HYTHE: Private airstrip

NOTES: In the mid 1970s the Sipa 901 G-ASXC was operated by the Waterside Flying Group, which, employing my patented extra magnification Sherlock Holmes detective kit, seems to suggest the strip was situated pretty close to Southampton Water? But where?

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.

HYTHE: Military helipad(s)

NOTES: I’ve found a mention that this helipad, also used by the US Army is still in use but I’m wondering if this might actually be closer to Marchwood? Where the Army mainly ships out from when conducting our various recent wars which are a popular British Government item of course….reminding me of the Strand cigarette adverts many years ago….. “You’re never alone with a war!” (Slightly paraphrased of course). Quite why Tony Blair has still not been arrested (in 2019) to be tried for war crimes, along with his mucker George Bush, remains a mystery. Well, for me at least.
