Knepp Castle
KNEPP CASTLE: Seaplane base
Operated by: Mr Barry Jackson
Activities: Floatplane training and pleasure flights
Location: Just SW of the A24 and A272 junction
Period of operation: 1989 to 1998
Trot: Approx 1000x90 roughly N-S
NOTES: A de Havilland (Canada) DHC-2 Beaver and Piper Cub were used. It appears that the site was first intended to be used for location filming involving a floatplane.
I suspect the Beaver might well be the one I photographed at LOCH EARN (see listing) a few years ago, but I believe it hasn't been airworthy for some time.
