Knott End-on-Sea

KNOTT END-on-SEA: Temporary beach landing site

Note: Second picture - caught by surprise when walking along the front, this aircraft passed overhead to land. I reckon it is a Evektor Eurostar.

Location: Just NNW of Knott End-on-Sea town and just NNE of Fleetwood

Note:  This site is at the western end of PILLING SANDS - see seperate entry

NOTES:
On a visit to the region in August 2016 I was delighted, when in Fleetwood, to see microlights landing on the sands across the river. Enquiries from local people revealed that this was a popular site for microlights, and often used during the week, perhaps for training purposes?

It soon became clear on a subsequent visit, (see the third picture), that local knowledge of tides is essential to use this location, when the sands are dry enough for use. I imagine that, in this third picture, the tide has just gone out and the sands still appear to be waterlogged.
