Letterkenny

LETTERKENNY: Parachuting site & GA airfield

Operated by: Swilly Aero Club

Location; Approx 2nm E of Letterkenny, at the southern end of Lough Swilly

Period of operation: 1980s to -

Runways: 07/25   575x8   hard          07/25   575x60    grass

NOTES: This airfield should not be in this 'Guide' at all - as it is in the Republic of Ireland. I have included it as an act of friendship, because, despite our turbulent history, private pilots rise above such matters and share a fraternity which does not much bother with piffling political matters, or nationality or religion etc. We belong to a much better world where we share enthusiasm and experience equally.
