TURRIFF AIR DISPLAY AND TRIPS
_______
Comparison With Four Years Ago
"The Highland Airways' monoplane "Inverness" will tomorrow, and on Sunday, carry out demonstration flights at Little Colp farm, Turriff. The plane will be in charge of Captain Freeson, who, it will be remembered, paid a visit to Little Colp in the autumn of 1930 and carried over 500 passengers in his Avro machine."
"The 'Inverness' is a very different type of plane, an up-to-date machine with two motors built into the wings and an enclosed cabin, which makes conversation possible when flying , and obviates the need for special clothing. The monoplane carries four passengers in addition to the pilot, and those who flew with Captain Freeson in 1930 will be able to make an interesting comparison."
"In addition to the monoplane flights, an aerobatic display wil be given by F.O.Craig in a Gipsy I Moth, in which aerobatic flights will also be available. On Saturday afternoon there will be special cheap trips for those who are unable to afford the usual charge."
A bit of research appears to reveal that the 'cabin monoplane' was the General Aircraft Monospar ST-4, G-ACEW.
