Lochmaddy

Note: The map gives only a rough location of the site used.

LOCHMADDY: Occassional Landing Ground

Location: In/near Lochmaddy which is on the A865 ‘spur’, (or is it the A867 ‘spur’?) on the mid-eastern side of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides

NOTES: In his book Air Ambulance Iain Hutchison gives an example of a Northern and Scottish Airways Spartan Cruiser landing here on a ‘special run’ air ambulance flight in 1936.
