Long Eaton

LONG EATON: Temporary aerodrome?

Operated by: Alan Cobham’s 1935 No.2 Tour

Location: Wilsthorpe Lane, Long Eaton

Period of operation: 16th September 1935

NOTES: Did Cobham’s No.1 Tour in 1933 also use this site for their display on the 4th June? Also did Cobham’s No.2 Tour use this site when visiting Long Eaton on the 20th June 1933?

Today (2017) I cannot find a Wilsthorpe Lane, but there is a Wilsthorpe Road, and, with a fairly large park alongside, this would have been an ideal venue in those days.
