Operated by: Aberdeen Air    (Formerly Northflight Aviation)

Flying School:  Aberdeen Air

Location: In the NE part of the WW2 airfield, E of Glendaveny, N of the A950 and roughly 3nm WNW of Peterhead town centre

Period of operation: From around 2010 ?

Runway: 10/28   500   hard
Note: This is perhaps at tad misleading and is taken from markings from a Google Earth image in 2012. This runway is at the eastern end of the WW2 runway 11/29 which was 1340 metres long and still exists. Therefore long flat unobstructed approaches are available, unlike so many airfields with hedges, fences etc. And the same applies to take-offs of course.

NOTES: In 2016 Aberdeen Air were offering the Cyclone AX2000HKS three-axis microlight G-CBGS, and the Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II G-BSYZ.

AN UNUSUAL ARRIVAL
In the November 2016 edition of Light Aviation magazine, Toni Hausler recounts arriving at a fly-in with the Fournier RF5B she co-owns with her partner John. After turning off the runway onto the single taxiway she was ; "....being thwarted by a series of old lighting posts spaced along the edges. Evidently they had never had a motorglider visit before!"

"A plaintive wail on the radio brought several locals running out to help, whereupon they started to break all the old wooden posts down to the ground so I could pass."
