MARSHAM: Military Landing Ground

Military user: RFC   (Royal Flying Corps)

51 [Home Defence] Sqdn  (Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2 and B.E.12 types)
 

Location: Marsham village is on the A140, 1.5nm S of Aylsham, 9nm NNW of Norwich city centre

Period of operation: 1916 only it seems


NOTES: Very little is known, so if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.

A plaque has recently been erected near Marsham church to commemorate the use of the field adjacent as described above.
