Location: About 3.5nm WNW of Peterborough city centre

Period of operation:  1990s (?) to -

Runway:  11/29   1205   grass

NOTES: This location was in Northamptonshire until the 'barmy army' of administrators decided to try and destroy the traditional Counties of England, by changing the administrative boundaries. Quite what the object was, (is?), remains a mystery. Although most people accept the changes, the fact is that this site, for example, still remains in Northamptonshire. As I understand it, only an act of Parliament can change County boundaries - and I don't think this has happened.

On another note, possibly not much realised, is that postcodes do not relate to County boundaries either. Mostly they do of course, but they certainly cannot be relied upon. Very often postcodes encroach onto adjacent County boundaries.
