Period of operation:  Unknown?

Runway/landing area:  Nothing visible it seems, but, the maximum run in a 01/19 direction is around 300 metres

NOTES:  In June 2022 Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', tells us that from around 2013 to 2017 about eight microlights were based here.

The microlight community in this country are an amazing bunch. In so many ways recreating past eras, even back to the pre-WW1 period when pilots, (or aviators as they were then called), landed, generally speaking, all over the place - there being very few aerodromes. Very often without permission, but that rarely seemed to be a problem. Today of course that aspect has changed, but even so many microlight pilots delight in visiting as many different landing sites as possible. And why not?

Perhaps needless to say, trying to trace the places where microlights have landed in the UK is an impossible task. Even so, this 'Guide' does try to give many examples. The same goes of course, to where helicopters have frequently landed at private sites - mainly restaurants and hotels etc. but a few strictly private sites have been included too.

When I was flying I always relished visiting a new venue, from major international airports to farm strips. Both of which offered challenges in their own ways. If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome.
