Morecambe Sands

Note:  This map only shows the position of Morecambe within the UK.

MORECAMBE SANDS: Civil aerodrome

Pleasure flights: Avro Transport Company, Ingham & Little Aviation Co

Location: ?

Period of operation: 1919 to 1921 only?

Runway(s):  Beach (sand)

NOTES: After WW1 the Avro Transport Company operated here using their 504K type operating from countless mostly beach sites it seems. Some on floats, others land-planes.

It appears the Ingham & Little operation only lasted for the 1921 summer season using Avro 504K G-EANQ.

If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
