Mountbatten, Lancs

Note: I really could be 'all at sea' here and will readily admit to clutching at straws. This map simply shows the position of Millom town within the UK and is given as a rough reference because various searches for leads appear to show some evidence that an area called Mountbatten might exist here. However, if anybody can kindly offer advice on this subject, this will be much appreciated indeed.

MOUNTBATTEN: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Alan Cobham’s 1933 No.1 Tour of the UK, Cobham’s 1934 Tour and finally Cobham’s 1935 No.2 Tour

Location: In or near Millom, roughly 6nm N or NNW of BARROW-in-FURNESS town centre

Period of operation: 22nd July 1933, 29th April 1934, 3rd August 1935
