Neasham Airport

Note: This map only gives my rough estimation of the location. If anybody can kindly offer more advice, this will be most welcome.

NEASHAM (CROFT) AIRPORT: Private aerodrome probably?

Operated by:  Darlington and District Aero Club

Location: About 2.5nm E from Croft Spa railway station

Period of operation: 1950s only?

NOTES:  In the 1957 The Aeroplane directory, the Darlington and District Aero Club gave this address, Neasham (Croft) Airport. What utter bollocks. Definitly never an airport by any stretch of the imagination.

And, I have failed to find any other information regarding this site. This said, founded in 1947, it appears to have a pretty substantial concern; in 1957 operating two Miles Hawk-Trainer 3, one Percival Proctor and four DH89A Tiger Moths.
