Nether Glastry

NETHER GLASTRY:    Private airfield         (Aka KILBRYDE)

Note:  The first picture was obtained from Google Earth ©. Unfortunately the only picture I could find for the period 2003 to 2009.The local area view is from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location:  Just NW of Kilbryde Castle, about 2.75nm NW of Dunblane town centre on the A9, roughly 7.5nm NNW of Stirling city centre

Period of operation:  2003 to 2009 certainly. Perhaps used before and since?

Runways:  No defined strips visible. Probably an 'all-over' airfield, very sensible and of course reflecting so many aerodromes from the 'good old days'.

NOTES: We have to thank Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', for pointing out this location. What we do know is that the X'Air Falcon 912, G-BZWC, was based here, or at least registered to this address, from the 19th May 2003 until the 30th June 2009. However, the hangar, still visible in 2023, seems of a size more than generous than that needed for an X-Air Falcon. So, perhaps other aircraft have been based here?

As always, if anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated. Pictures are also most welcome.
