Location: Just E of the B7045, about 1.5nm ENE of Maybole village, roughly 6.5nm S of Ayr town centre

Period of operation:  ?

Runways:  Mostly not defined. But, in the 2016 picture the landing strips appear to be:

07/25   300   grass              09/27   330   grass                12/30   330   grass

NOTES:  We have to thank Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide' for pointing out this site, which is quite interesting for a couple of reasons. Unlike most private airfields this site appears to have, in the main, no defined 'runways'. The 2004 picture is a good example, no defined strip(s) as such, but an aircraft in the picture.

This looks like a Piper Cub, or similar, and of course aircraft such as this do not need a prepared airstrip to land on.

The second reason is that so far, any attempt to determine how long this location has being used, has failed.

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
