Operated by:    2001: Mr G & Mrs J Pritchard

Location:    S of the B4348, just SE of Hardwicke, about 3nm ENE of Hay-on-Wye

Runway:    09/27    457x27    grass

Note:  Although this runway length was given in a pilots guide, the pictures above clearly show that a defined runway is not visible

NOTES: Looking at the pilot notes in a 2001 flight guide made interesting reading for me at least. Not recommended for novice pilots it says - and you can see why. At the midpoint of this fairly short runway it passes through a 5ft high hedge and then rises, (towards the 09 end), by 100ft! Landing on 27 and taking off on 09 is the rule for visitors. Difficult to spot from the air is another warning. I’d have loved to have a go though, on a fine day with little or no wind as these strips are, for me, the very best type of back to basics flying anybody can aspire to.
