Note:  All three pictures obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: Mr McGrath

Location: Just E of Rodmersham Green, roughly 12nm SSE of Sittingbourne town centre

Period of operation: From 1992(?) until 2013

Runway: 12/30   550   grass
Note: In 2010 reported to be 600m long

In all three of the Google Earth pictures, using the 'ruler' facility, it appears the strip was always 590/600 metres long.

NOTES:
In April 2017, when adding this site, I found it quite impossible to find a location. So, being a bit cheeky, I sent an e-mail to Brian Hope, the editor of Light Aviation magazine who I have known for many years. And he kindly came up trumps bless him.

No longer in use, Brian had flown in several times. It appears that Jacqui Clark was flying an Auster out of this strip for several years.

In July 2019, using the history facility, there was no evidence of this strip in 1990. In an April 2013 picture the strip was still clearly visible although the entire site had been ploughed up in the June picture.

Hi, Jackie was my old school teacher and used this strip for many years. It's no longer used as she moved up north but I would love to get it back in use. I wonder if the current owners would let me.

Reply from Dick Flute:
Hi Kiran, I suggest you pay a visit to find out. If this succeeds please let me know. Best regards, Dick
