Newton Ketton Farm

NEWTON KETTON FARM: Private airstrip    (Aka KETTON)

Note:  Both of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. Interesting to see that the hangar was still here in 2022. Presumably now used for storing farm equipment.

Operated by: Mr Donald W Wilkinson

Location: Just E to ESE of Newton Ketton, 2nm E of A1(M), roughly 4nm NE to NNE of Darlington town centre

Period of operation: 1970s to 1990s only?

Runway: 06/24   400x20   grass

NOTES: A nice touch in a 1990 Flight Guide says, “A low circuit over the farm to NW of strip will ensure a welcome”.

Any advice on this will be most welcome. In March 2022 Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', tells us that the Morane Saulnier Rallye 150ST, G-BEVA, was based here from May 1984 until February 1987.
