Nocton

Note: This map only gives the position of Nocton village within the UK.

NOCTON: Military Landing Ground

Military user: RAF     Flying Training Command

2 FTS       (Avro Tutors)

Location: Near Nocton village on the B1202, 6nm SE of Lincoln city centre

Period of operation: 1936 only?

NOTES: I cannot remember where I found this information. Subsequent enquiries only reveal RAF Nocton Hall, which was a hospital. Nevertheless I have included it in this 'Guide' simply because, in those days, the RAF would often have what was pretty much an open field available to practice forced landings for example.

Perhaps used by Avro Tutor aircraft operating out of nearby RAF DIGBY where 2 FTS were based from Oct 1934 to 1937, or so it appears.

If anybody can kindly offer advice on the subject, this will be much appreciated.
