Omagh

Note: Some time ago I made this remark: This map only gives the position of Omagh town within the UK. If anybody can kindly provide a more exact location for the airfield, this advice will be most welcome.
In January 2017 I was kindly contacted by Peter Vercruijsse who has given an exact location.

OMAGH: Military later civil (possibly temporary for civil use) aerodrome     (Aka STRATHROY)

Military user: RAF Operational Station for anti-Sinn Feign operatons

105 Sqdn   (Royal Aicraft Factory RE.8s)

Civil user: CWA Scott’s Flying Displays 1936 Tour

Location: E of the A5, just NNW of Omagh town

Period of operation: Military: 1917 & 1918 only?   Some say 1918 to 1919    Civil: 6th June 1936

NOTES: The venue address for the CWA Scott’s Flying Displays Tour was, the ex-RAF Aerodrome Omagh
