Out Skerries

OUT SKERRIES: Private airstrip

Aerial view
Aerial view

Note:  This picture (2008) was obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: 2001: Ms Alice Arthur

Airline user:  Directflight

Location: NE of Bruray, NE end of island

Period of operation: 1980s to -

Runway: 2001: 09/27   380x18   gravel?

NOTES: A look at Google Earth (image date 2008) appears to show the runway length as 365 metres.

It appears that Directflight suspended operations in late 2018. It appears they used their two Brittan-Norman BN-2 Islanders for services to OUT SKERRIES.

You can find it claimed that OUT SKERRIES is the shortest runway in the UK that can be flown onto on a scheduled service. This claim seems doubtful and I would recommend seeing my listing for PAPA WESTRAY, and indeed, WESTRAY.
