Oxenhope

OXENHOPE: Private airfield
Note: I am being a bit pedantic perhaps as this site is often referred to as being an airstrip. But in my reckoning, if the site offers more than one runway, as this does - it is an airfield.

Operated by: 1980s to 1992: Mr J R Heaton

Runways: 11/29   460x15   grass           06/24   325x10   grass
A helipad was/is available.

NOTES: It appears that this airfield can claim to be the highest in the UK at 1150ft above sea level. Unless of course, you know of another which is even higher?

In the mid 1970s it appears five aircraft were based here; the Druine D.31 Turbulent G-AWDH, Jodel D.117 G-AYKK of P Cawhwell & ptnrs, Jodel D.120 Paris-Nice G-AZEF, Cessna FR.172F G-BBXH of Vale Hire & Contracting Co Ltd and the Gardan GY-201 Minicab G-BCER.

If anybody can kindly add more pictures, these will be very welcome.
