Papa Stour

PAPA STOUR: Private airstrip

Aerial view
Aerial view

Note:  This picture (2005) was obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: 2001: Mr T Gray

Location: On the Isle of Papa Stour

Period of operation: 1980s to 2000s only?

Runway: 18/36   538x18   grass & stones

NOTES: One 1980s airfield guide lists it as PAPA STOWER. It must have been, (or still is?), an ‘interesting’ place to fly into with no maintenance, no fuel, no restaurant or hotel and certainly no taxi or car hire as there is only 1.5 miles of road on the island.
