Note: This site was later used, more or less, as a private airfield in the 1930s. See seperate entry  (FALLENICH FARM)

Military users: RFC/RAF  (Royal Flying Corps / Royal Air Force)        Night Landing Ground

77 [Home Defence] Sqdn 1916 to 1917   (Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2 & B.E.12 types)

Notes: Apparently used by this Squadron as an ELG   (Emergency Landing Ground)

RFC Training Squadron Station 1916 to 1917

43 [Training] Sqdn   (Various types, probably equipped with Sopwith 1½ Strutters before going to France)

RAF Summer Camp 1918

Location: Just NW of Stirling, S of the A84, E of the M9

Period of operation: 1916 to 1918   (Other sources claim used until 1939 which seems very doubtful, it then being used in the 1930s as a civil aerodrome)


Area:  48 hectares     Orientated roughly SW/NE   1250 x 490
