REDRUTH: Temporary aerodrome?

NOTES: Venue in June 1931 for CD Barnard Air Tours. Is the exact location known?

From the Cornubian and Redruth Times – Thursday 03 April 1924 – Berkshire Aviation Tours’ Company has been visiting Redruth, and passengers in good numbers have been taken up for long or short trips, two aeroplanes being used, a “red” and a “blue” machine. The ground is at the East End, just east of the town reservoir, and the novelty is attracteing large crowds of people who watch the nose-diving, banking, looping the loop, etc., with great interest, but passenger flights are almost invariably made by straight-forward flying. The machines are of the usual bi-plane type and appear very steady when in motion. The reservoir is actually on the SE side of the town – 50 13 55”N 005 13 08”W and just to the east of the reservoir is the Grambler Farm and the large field to the south is probably the one used.
